The team of 2L Benjamin Duval and 3L Luke Fedlam were awarded “Best Draft” during a regional competition of the 2013 National Transactional LawMeet in Springfield, Mass. on Feb. 15.
The National Transactional LawMeet provides an opportunity for a “moot court” experience for students interested in a transactional law practice. The competition was comprised of three rounds where students from 12 law schools negotiated over their draft amendments and markups to a stock purchase agreement.
Coached by ProfessorDale A. Oesterle, the J. Gilbert Reese Chair in Contract Law, the duo spent many hours drafting their amendments and markups in preparation for the competition. While they will not be negotiating in the final round, the award focusing exclusively on drafting is a significant achievement.
